Questions About Go Code CO 2016

Hi guys! I have a few questions regarding Go Code CO 2016. I've never done a coding contest but would really like to.

Have any of you done this before? What was it like? Do you have to be in a group to do so?

If anybody knows the details, I'd like to hear more about it. I think it would be a fun/cool experience.

@Tracy_Wesley Wow, can't believe no one responded to this. The GoCode Kick-Off event is tomorrow in Boulder so we'll know what the problem statements are. Then we've got Beer and Business on the 11th so I'm assuming @joshhudnall and @Brian_Watson will be talking about it, you should definitely come to that if you wanna know more

@Eli_Boda Thanks for the info! I noticed the kickoff was tomorrow but wasn't sure whether I needed to attend if I want to be involved. I'll definitely go to the meeting this month.

Hey Tracey,
@Eli_Boda is right on it! I just finished creating the Beer and Business Newsletter talking about the upcoming event and Go Code CO. For this month's beer and business event, we actually have Elaine and Andrew (the people in charge of running Go Code) coming out to Grand Junction to talk all about the competition. There is an email scheduled to go out on Thursday morning that will have all the details for Beer and Business.

Last years Go Code was a great experience. Our group was able to use public data and build a working app/site along with a business idea to get people out on Colorado hiking trails. But unfortunately the judging was more focused on the business aspect of an idea rather than showing some working code, or having a personal preference on the type of activity you could do in Colorado. I am still planning on going this year and hope to have fun working with other tech people in the valley on some projects this year.
